Your Entertainers for this event are:

Paul Varghese
Paul earned his bachelor’s degree in radio, television and film from the University of North Texas in 2000.  Varghese, who began doing stand-up in 2001, headlined the 16-city Gurus of Comedy tour in the spring of 2006. In 2007 he was named “Best Stand-Up Comic in Dallas” by the Dallas Observer and won the 2009 “Funniest Comic in Texas” competition. Varghese was also featured on Showtime’s “Russell Peter’s Presents”, Telemundo 2’s “Loco Comedy Jam”, Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham” and “Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution”. In 2012, Varghese opened for comedian Dave Chappelle at the Dallas House of Blues and now performers there regularly.

Kasambwe Mpulamasaka
Born and raised in Zambia, Kasambwe Mpulamasaka now resides in Texas.  Starting in Colorado at open mics, Kasambwe worked his way up to colleges and comedy clubs performing with national headliners such as David Allan Grier, Josh Blue, & Michael Blackson. In 2010 his first television appearance was in Los Angeles for the Africa Channel. Kasambwe was also given an award by the mayor of Dallas, Dwaine Caraway after a comedy contest at The Galleria-Dallas.  When Kasambwe takes the stage you quickly find yourself intrigued and heartily laughing at his experiences as a young immigrant.

Kasambwe was the inspiration for this project – bringing to our attention the need for culturally appropriate education about health and disease in Africa.

Darren Collins
Rotarian Darren Collins has performed for over 100,000 people in over 45 States and 15 countries.   He performs world class juggling, magic and stand-up comedy for family audiences.  He’s the 2010 Long Distance Knife Throwing World Champion, has been a finalist in the Funniest Comic in Texas contest, and is the only comedian in the world to have appeared on both Good Morning Texas and Good Morning Kenya.  Darren draws from a lifetime of travel and buffoonery and is the instigator behind this event.

Jared Kopf
He will tell you he is a liar and you will believe him anyway.

“If you haven’t heard of Jared Kopf yet, YOU WILL.  He’s one of the best magicians in the world.”  – Norman Beck; Director of Claims and Securities, SCA Promotions

“Jared Kopf is a name one often hears whispered among magical cognoscenti… his slight of hand skills are outstanding  …he is a serious student of the art.”  – Magic Magazine

“As a rationalist and a mechanist, I view all phenomena as ultimately explainable. Kopf is a consummate artist, and I hope to understand one day how he was able to do what he did.”

— Dr. Bruce Beutler, MD, Nobel laureate (Physiology or Medicine, 2011)
